Abuja-based cleric and founder of Conquerors Global Assembly, Bishop David Abioye, has expressed concern over Nigeria’s worsening security situation, saying innocent children continue to suffer in captivity while many political leaders remain disconnected from the realities facing citizens.
Speaking during a church service in Abuja, Abioye called for compassionate and responsible leadership, declaring, “Children are being tortured in the bush while our leaders are sleeping comfortably on their golden bed.”
His remarks come amid renewed concerns over kidnappings, attacks on communities, and the abduction of schoolchildren in several parts of the country. The cleric said leadership should be defined by sacrifice, empathy, and a willingness to share in the people’s struggles rather than personal comfort.
Abioye urged leaders at all levels of government to move beyond political rhetoric and take practical steps to improve security, protect lives, and restore public confidence. He also encouraged Nigerians to remain united, continue praying for the country, and support efforts to promote justice, peace, and good governance.
The bishop’s comments have sparked discussions among worshippers and on social media, with many echoing his concerns over insecurity and calling for stronger government action against kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.
