“The Terrorism, Kidnapping, and So On That Were in the North Are Now Even at My Doorstep,” Adeboye Says

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has expressed concern over Nigeria’s worsening security situation, saying terrorism, kidnapping and other violent crimes have spread from the North to the South.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, Adeboye made the remarks at the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala organised by the Save Nigeria Group in Washington, D.C., on June 23. A video of the event was later shared by Eagles Online on YouTube.

The cleric said the country’s security crisis has worsened significantly, with violence now affecting communities previously regarded as relatively peaceful.

“Things have gone far, far worse than before. The terrorism, kidnapping, and similar issues that were once in the north are now right at my doorstep. They’ve spread all the way to the South. And the sponsors—those responsible—are known, yet they continue to move around freely,” Adeboye said.

He argued that the spread of violence demonstrates the growing scale of Nigeria’s security challenges and called attention to what he described as the lack of accountability for individuals allegedly sponsoring terrorism and other violent crimes, urging authorities to address the root causes of the crisis.
