Nnaji: “A Lot of People Have Been Pointing Accusing Fingers That the President Is Condoning Him” – Oshoma

Lawyer and human rights activist Liborous Oshoma has praised the Federal Government’s handling of the case involving former Minister Uche Nnaji, saying the response demonstrates a commitment to accountability.

Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Oshoma reacted to Nnaji’s arrest by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), describing the government’s approach as appropriate.

“I like the fact that the government is taking this seriously because a lot of people have been pointing accusing fingers at the president that the president is condoning him because in the last election, there were also issues raised around the president’s certificate,” Oshoma said.

He argued that the government’s response could help dispel public perceptions that politically exposed individuals are protected from investigation or prosecution.

According to Oshoma, allowing law enforcement agencies to carry out their duties without political interference would strengthen public confidence in the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.
