They Asked How Much I Had After Taking Me to the Bush, I Spent Four Days Until My Husband Raised ₦3m — Victim

Kidnap victim Gloria Inyanugbo has recounted how she was abducted while working on her farm and held captive for four days before her family secured her release with a ₦3 million ransom and additional items demanded by her captors.

Speaking after the arrest of suspected members of the kidnapping gang, Inyanugbo said she was kidnapped on January 12 and taken into the bush, where the abductors immediately demanded to know how much money she had in her bank account.

“They asked how much I had in my account after taking me into the bush. I spent four days there until my husband raised ₦3 million and another ₦300,000 to buy hard drugs, food and other items,” she said.

According to TheCable, Inyanugbo expressed relief that some of the suspects had been arrested, saying she never believed they would be brought to justice.

She commended local vigilantes and the police, explaining that community vigilantes first apprehended two suspects in the bush before police tracked down and arrested others linked to the kidnapping.

“I never imagined the police would eventually arrest them,” she added.
