Media entrepreneur and politician Dele Momodu has expressed confidence in the political strength of Peter Obi in Nigeria’s South-East, saying no amount of campaign spending can defeat him in the region if he contests.
Speaking during an interview on Nevon HQ on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Momodu described Obi as a dominant political figure with strong grassroots support across the South-East.
“If the City Boys Movement wishes to invest N10 trillion or N20 trillion in the South-East, while Obi is still a candidate, they will not be able to defeat him,” Momodu said.
He argued that Obi’s support in the region remains steadfast despite changes in Nigeria’s political landscape, adding that the connection between the former Anambra State governor and voters goes beyond financial influence or political mobilisation.
Momodu’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about political strategies and voting patterns ahead of future elections, underscoring his view that regional support will play a decisive role in determining electoral outcomes.
