Lamine Yamal has welcomed the possibility of Julián Álvarez joining FC Barcelona from Atlético Madrid during the summer transfer window.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the Spain international described Álvarez as a “top player” and said the Argentina forward would be an ideal fit for Barcelona’s style of play.
“We wait for him at Barça with open arms,” Yamal said. “Julian for sure is that kind of player everyone wants to play with. He is absolutely perfect for Barça style. He’s a top player, we all know that. I hope he joins.”
Álvarez has been linked with a move to the LaLiga champions as Barcelona seek to strengthen their attacking options. The forward is regarded for his movement, finishing ability and versatility across the front line.
Yamal said Álvarez’s technical quality and football intelligence would complement Barcelona’s attacking system. Any potential transfer, however, will depend on negotiations between Barcelona and Atlético Madrid as speculation over the striker’s future continues during the summer transfer window.
