Mohammad Marandi has warned that Iran would respond forcefully to any renewed military conflict with the United States, saying neither U.S. President Donald Trump nor Gulf states that support Washington should expect restraint.
Speaking in an interview with Channel 4 News, Marandi claimed Iran emerged in a stronger position following the recent 39-day conflict and said the country had demonstrated its ability to sustain a prolonged war, including its willingness to close the Strait of Hormuz if necessary.
“And if Trump again tries to start a war this time round, Iran won’t be forgiving neither to Trump nor those family dictatorships in the Persian Gulf that have assisted him in this war,” Marandi said.
He also alleged that recent U.S. strikes killed eight Iranian soldiers, arguing that the incident had heightened public anger in Iran. Marandi further claimed that calls for retaliation had intensified over the deaths of the soldiers and the earlier killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, remarks that have not been independently verified. The U.S. government had not publicly responded to his latest comments.
