Makinde: I Cannot Value Any Statement Made by Peter Obi, Everything for Him Is Politics – Wike

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has dismissed Peter Obi’s claim that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde told him President Bola Tinubu did not call after the abduction of students in Oriire Local Government Area.

Speaking during a media parley reported by TVC, Wike described Obi’s remarks as politically motivated and questioned the basis of the claim.

“I cannot value any statement made by Peter Obi because he is a man who is not consistent; everything for him is politics. I’m not in a position to confirm if the President did not call Seyi or not. But if the President did not call Seyi, who is the governor, did Seyi call the head of government to say this is what has happened in my state? If something happens in my state, it is for me to call Mr. President first. That’s how it is done,” Wike said.

The minister argued that the key issue is not whether a phone call was made but whether the Federal Government acted to address the abductions. He also accused Obi of selectively using what Makinde allegedly told him to score political points while overlooking the government’s response to the incident.
