Obi Will Lose Lagos, Wike Will Checkmate Him in SS, APC Govs in SE Will Checkmate His Votes — Muhammad

Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad, Deputy National Chairman (North-West) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed confidence that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is better positioned than Peter Obi to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during an interview with DCL English, Muhammad argued that Obi is unlikely to replicate his 2023 electoral performance. She claimed the former Labour Party presidential candidate would lose Lagos State and face reduced support in the South-South due to the political influence of former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

Muhammad also alleged that the presence of APC governors in the South-East would limit Obi’s votes in the region and maintained that he would struggle to gain significant support in northern Nigeria.

“Peter Obi will lose many of the locations where he had success in the previous election, including Lagos. There are numerous areas where victory will be difficult for him, especially since Wike is present in the South-South to limit his progress, and in the South-East, there are very strong APC governors who will reduce his vote count,” she said.

The remarks reflect Muhammad’s personal political assessment ahead of the 2027 general election.
