Prophet Moses Akande Ayobami has recounted how he learned of the abduction of students and staff of Community High School, Esiele, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the incident as a traumatic experience for the community.
Speaking during an interview aired on TVC News on Saturday, July 11, 2026, after the rescue of the abducted students, teachers, and principal, the cleric said he was travelling to Ogbomosho when he received the news.
“When we heard about it, we weren’t happy. When it happened, I wasn’t around. I was on my way to Ogbomosho. I was on transit when I received the call about the abduction. When I got back, the community was in disarray,” Ayobami said.
He said news of the attack spread rapidly, leaving residents deeply worried about the safety of the victims. According to him, members of the community responded with prayers and expressions of solidarity while awaiting updates on the abducted children and school staff.
The students, teachers, and school principal were later rescued in a security operation, a development that brought relief to their families and residents of Oyo State, with many commending the efforts of the security agencies involved.
