APC founding member Osita Okechukwu says public debate over President Bola Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket has diminished as Nigerians focus more on economic hardship than religious politics.
According to Daily Post, Okechukwu, speaking on Trust TV’s Sunday Politics, said rising inflation, the increasing cost of living and what he described as “stomach infrastructure” have become the primary concerns of many citizens.
He argued that Nigerians are now more interested in policies capable of improving their livelihoods than in debates over the religious composition of the APC’s 2023 presidential ticket.
Okechukwu also maintained that the Tinubu administration’s actions over the past three years have shown that government policies are not driven by religious considerations.
“Tinubu has shown in the last three years that he is not making policies based on the Muslim-Muslim ticket or because he wants to favour Muslims,” he said.
The APC chieftain added that economic pressures have shifted public discourse toward inflation, the rising cost of essential goods and other issues affecting household incomes, replacing earlier controversies surrounding religion and electoral politics.
