African Democratic Congress (ADC) member Ibrahim Modibbo has expressed regret over supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election, saying the administration has not met his expectations.
According to the interview, Modibbo made the remarks during an appearance on AIT, where he disclosed that he was formerly a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and actively campaigned for Tinubu through radio and television programmes across the country.
The ADC chieftain said he has asked God for forgiveness because he did not anticipate the direction the administration would take. He also appealed to Nigerians to forgive him for supporting Tinubu during the election.
“I was also a member of the APC. I made campaigns all over the country in radio and television for Tinubu, but I beg God to forgive me because I did not know that this is how it is going to turn,” Modibbo said.
According to the interview, Modibbo said his remarks reflect his disappointment with the current administration and explained that his views influenced his decision to leave the APC and join the African Democratic Congress.
