Returning Real Madrid Forward Hands in a Surprise Transfer Request – Report

Real Madrid forward Endrick has reportedly informed the club of his desire to leave before the close of the summer transfer window.

According to the report, published by Madrid Universal on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the Brazilian striker made the request after struggling to secure a regular place in the first team despite an impressive loan spell at Lyon. Expectations had been high that he would earn a prominent role under manager José Mourinho following his return to the Santiago Bernabéu.

The report said Endrick’s prospects have declined after an underwhelming pre-season and the club’s continued recruitment. Journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claimed the 20-year-old has now formally asked to leave this summer.

According to the report, Real Madrid’s signing of Carlos Espi following Gonzalo Garcia’s move to Fulham has further reduced Endrick’s opportunities, with Mourinho reportedly favouring Espi because of his physical attributes.

Roma are said to be the leading contenders for Endrick’s signature, with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini reportedly viewing the Brazilian as a versatile attacking option. The report added that while Real Madrid had previously resisted interest from Serie A clubs, a loan move is now considered a possible solution to provide the forward with regular playing time.
