Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has urged Christians to live with humility, reminding believers that nothing is hidden from God.
According to the sermon, published on Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s official YouTube page on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Adeboye warned that many people act as though God neither sees nor hears their actions, describing such an attitude as a sign of pride.
To illustrate his message, he recounted the story of a pastor who took a choir member to a hotel far from home, believing they had concealed their actions. He quoted the choir member as saying: “Sir, we looked right. Nobody saw us. We looked left. We looked everywhere. Nobody saw us. But sir, we didn’t look up. There is somebody up there who can see, who can hear.”
According to the sermon, Adeboye said the account serves as a reminder that God is aware of every action and conversation, even when people believe they are beyond human observation.
He also reflected on his university days, recalling that some people believed God was either nonexistent or uninvolved in human affairs. Citing John 15:5, he stressed that “without Him, you can do nothing,” urging believers to reject pride, depend on God, and pursue spiritual growth through humility.
