After Granting Live TV Interview, Daniel Bwala Fires Shot at Rufai Oseni Over His Online Comment

Presidential spokesperson Daniel Bwala has criticised Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni following comments the broadcaster made on social media after Bwala’s appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, had discussed issues including security, governance, and the administration’s performance during the interview hosted by Seun Okinbaloye.

In a post on his X account shortly after the programme aired, Bwala accused Oseni of using online criticism to generate engagement and revenue. He described the journalist as “a major spokesman for Peter Obi” and alleged that his online activities were driven by “hate, vitriol and fake news.”

“Barely one hour after my interview with @seunokin, a major spokesman for Peter Obi, @ruffydfire… has engaged on his X handle to troll and generate revenue. That is his MO,” Bwala wrote.

He further alleged that exploiting the emotions of supporters for online engagement amounted to making “blood money.”

As of the time of the report, neither Rufai Oseni nor Arise Television had publicly responded to Bwala’s remarks.
