Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has declared his support for the Rainbow Coalition, endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, and backed Kingsley Chinda as his preferred candidate for the Rivers governorship.
According to a Punch report published on July 22, 2026, Fubara made the announcement during the groundbreaking and foundation-laying ceremony for the Rivien Medical Industry project in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Addressing attendees, the governor said peace had returned to the state and urged his supporters to align with the Rainbow Coalition, a political alliance associated with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
“We have made peace in the state. And I am supporting our rainbow party, or rainbow coalition,” Fubara said.
He also publicly endorsed President Tinubu’s re-election bid and named Kingsley Chinda as his preferred governorship candidate, signalling his political direction as preparations for future elections gather momentum in Rivers State.
