Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed condolences over the death of Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour, mother of the party’s Lagos State governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
In a statement shared on his X account, Atiku described her death as a painful loss.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour, beloved mother of the ADC Governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour,” he wrote.
The former vice president extended his sympathies to Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Rhodes-Vivour family and all those mourning her passing.
“At moments like this, no words can truly ease the pain of losing a loved one,” Atiku said.
He also prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul, asking God to grant her eternal mercy, forgive her shortcomings and give the bereaved family the strength and patience to bear the loss.
“I pray that the Almighty God grants her eternal mercy, forgives her shortcomings, and comforts the family with the strength and patience to bear this profound loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.
