Rescued Oriire Principal Receives New Car from Oyo APC Governorship Candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has presented a brand-new Toyota Camry to Mrs. Rachael Alamu, the rescued principal of Community High School, Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area.

According to a Tribune report on Monday, July 13, 2026, the vehicle was presented during a brief ceremony attended by the member representing Afijio/Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba Federal Constituency, Akeem Adeyemi. Photos shared by Ibadan-based Yes FM captured the handover.

Mrs. Alamu is receiving medical care at the Military Hospital in Ibadan after regaining her freedom alongside other teachers and pupils abducted during attacks on schools in Oriire on May 15, 2026.

The donation followed an emotional video recorded after her rescue in which Alamu asked security personnel about the safety of her husband and the whereabouts of her vehicle. Officers reassured her that her family was safe.

The victims were rescued after weeks in captivity through a joint operation involving the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies. They are currently undergoing medical evaluation, counselling and rehabilitation as they recover from the physical and emotional effects of the ordeal.
