Bandit: He Picked Up Heavy Stick And Tried To Strike Me, I Shouted Jesus Save Me” He Stopped – Witness

An elderly eyewitness from the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Omugo, has given a harrowing account of how she narrowly escaped being attacked during a violent raid by suspected bandits on the church during a service, describing how a moment of panic and prayer may have saved her life.

She spoke during an interview on News Central TV, while recalling the chaos that followed the invasion, which left worshippers scattered and several congregants reportedly abducted.

According to her, she attempted to flee after the attackers had moved deeper into the church premises, but she was suddenly confronted by one of the armed men who grabbed her and, attempted to assault her.

“He then picked up a heavy stick and tried to strike me but I shouted again ‘Jesus save me’ he stopped, dropped the stick and took the bag I was carrying,” she said.

The woman explained that the attackers were moving aggressively through the church environment, forcing worshippers to run in different directions in a desperate attempt to escape. She said many people were in shock as the incident unfolded, with fear spreading rapidly as gunmen stormed the worship centre.

Her testimony adds to a growing number of eyewitness accounts from survivors of the attack, including members who described how worship activities were abruptly disrupted when armed men invaded the premises and began abducting congregants.

Community members in Omugo have continued to express alarm over the incident, urging security agencies to strengthen protection around places of worship and rural settlements that have increasingly become targets for armed groups.
