Boy, 3, plunges to d£ath from block of flats as woman arrested over ‘neglect’

A three-year-old boy has di£d after falling from a property in south London. 

Emergency services rushed to flats in Sutton on Sunday afternoon, May 24, following reports that a child had “fallen from height” and the child was taken to hospital where he sadly di£d. 

An investigation is underway and a woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect, and has been bailed while enquiries continue, said the Metropolitan Police. 

The toddler fell from the second-storey window of a block of flats, witnesses told The Standard. 

A spokesperson from the Met Police stated: “Police were called at 17:18hrs on Sunday, 24 May to reports a child had fallen from height from a home address in Sutton. 

“Officers attended the scene, alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. A three-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment where he sadly di£d. His next of kin are aware. 

“A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of child neglect and has since been bailed to return at a later date. The d£ath remains under investigation and enquiries remain ongoing.”
