Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has paid an emotional tribute to Andrey Santos following the Brazilian’s confirmed transfer to Manchester United after three seasons at Stamford Bridge.
Santos completed his move after Chelsea and Manchester United reached an agreement, ending his time with the Blues. Reacting to the announcement, Palmer commented on Chelsea’s farewell post on Instagram, writing: “What a player! Good luck bro.”
Chelsea signed Santos from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama on January 7, 2023, as one of South America’s most highly rated young prospects. He spent periods on loan before breaking into the club’s first team.
During the 2025/26 season, the midfielder made 43 appearances, establishing himself as an important member of Chelsea’s squad with his technical ability, energy, and maturity in midfield.
Despite his progress, Chelsea agreed to sell Santos to Manchester United, where he has signed a five-year contract. The move strengthens United’s midfield with a player regarded as having both immediate quality and long-term potential.
