Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Inter Milan are in active discussions with Trevoh Chalobah’s representatives as they explore a move for the Chelsea defender, although no formal bid has yet been submitted.
Romano said Chelsea have not received a new offer from Como 1907 since rejecting the Italian club’s €25 million bid on June 24. Despite maintaining interest, Como have not returned with an improved proposal.
Inter are understood to be Chalobah’s preferred destination if Chelsea approve a transfer. The Serie A club is currently holding internal discussions and preparing for possible negotiations with Chelsea, but no club-to-club agreement has been reached.
The defender is reportedly awaiting clarity on whether Inter will convert their interest into an official offer, with the coming days expected to be decisive.
Como remain interested but are said to be on standby and would likely resume negotiations only if Inter fail to progress with a deal. Chelsea, meanwhile, have maintained their position following the rejection of Como’s initial €25 million bid, with no indication that their valuation of the player has changed.
