






An Air Peace evacuation flight carrying Nigerian citizens—including women and children—landed safely at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at approximately 10:35 a.m. today, June 11, following their repatriation from South Africa.
Top government officials were on the ground to officially receive the returnees upon arrival, including the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), and the Commissioner for Migrants and Refugees.
The delegation assured the arriving citizens of immediate federal support and comprehensive long-term reintegration assistance. The federal government has also confirmed that this repatriation exercise will continue throughout the month, with subsequent evacuation flights scheduled to take place on June 15, June 18, June 22, and June 24, 2026.
