The Delta State Police Command has arrested content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, following the death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.
Police said the arrest followed the Commissioner of Police’s directive for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to a video shared by Arise TV and reportedly recorded before her death, Agbro said she travelled to Asaba after Ogbonna invited her for content creation training and promised to help her while she was facing financial and family difficulties.
Agbro alleged that she was later raped and assaulted by the suspect in a hotel. She said she initially contacted Ogbonna online because she needed advice and financial support and was seeking to learn content creation.
“He said I should come and meet him, he’s going to help me. He didn’t tell me that I should come let him sleep with me; he’s going to give me the amount of money I want. No,” she said.
The police said investigations into the allegations and the circumstances surrounding Agbro’s death are ongoing.
