Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, has urged Christians to study the success of Bishop David Oyedepo rather than criticize his wealth, saying the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide has demonstrated decades of consistent growth and influence.
Speaking during a sermon recently shared on YouTube, Fatoyinbo said many people question the source of Oyedepo’s prosperity without taking time to understand the principles behind the growth of his ministry.
According to the cleric, Oyedepo’s achievements, including his long-standing use of private aircraft and the establishment of major institutions, reflect decades of consistency rather than chance.
Fatoyinbo said he has personally studied Oyedepo’s ministry and observed its sustained expansion despite criticism and opposition over the years. He argued that the bishop’s enduring influence and financial success should inspire learning rather than suspicion.
Referring to Oyedepo’s longevity in ministry, Fatoyinbo said, “He’s over 70 and has been riding a jet since 40,” adding that such long-term success suggests there are principles and disciplines others can learn from.
The COZA pastor also recalled periods when Oyedepo faced widespread criticism while continuing to pursue major projects, including educational institutions and ministry infrastructure. He said the ministry’s continued growth during those years prompted him to examine the factors behind its success.
Drawing from his own experience of nearly three decades in ministry, Fatoyinbo noted that not every pastor records the same level of growth or prosperity despite years of service. He maintained that lasting success requires more than hard work, emphasizing the importance of spiritual principles, discipline, and obedience.
He encouraged Christians to approach consistently successful ministries with a willingness to learn rather than skepticism, concluding that enduring impact is built on faithfulness, commitment, and adherence to what he described as divine principles.
