Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has shared details of his personal prayer life, saying his daily prayer is a simple request for God’s protection as he carries out his official responsibilities.
According to TVC News on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, Wike made the remarks during the commissioning of the Bwari Satellite Town Water Supply Project, one of the events marking the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
During his address, the minister credited President Tinubu’s support for the progress recorded by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), saying the President’s backing has enabled the delivery of key infrastructure projects across the capital.
Speaking about his family, Wike said his wife is more devoted to prayer than he is, describing her as someone who prays extensively while his own prayers are brief and focused on returning home safely.
“I don’t know how to pray very well. The best prayer I can offer is, ‘God, let me come back safely today,’ but she prays very well,” Wike said.
He added that he regularly asks his wife to pray for President Tinubu to continue supporting the FCTA, maintaining that such support has been vital to the administration’s efforts to improve infrastructure and public services.
Wike reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more projects and enhancing the quality of life for residents of the Federal Capital Territory with the continued support of the Presidency.
