Minister of Works Dave Umahi has said the ongoing infrastructure projects across Nigeria reflect the positive impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, expressing confidence that the government’s road development programme is delivering tangible results.
According to a Daily Post report published on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Umahi made the remarks while inspecting a federal road project in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
During the inspection, the minister said the administration remains committed to upgrading Nigeria’s road network, describing infrastructure development as a key pillar of its strategy for economic growth and national development.
Umahi noted that investments in the construction and rehabilitation of highways are improving transportation while creating jobs for engineers, contractors, artisans, and other workers involved in the projects.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the Abakaliki road project, adding that the Federal Government is focused on completing major infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving mobility, boosting commerce, and enhancing the quality of life for Nigerians.
According to the minister, the Tinubu administration has prioritized critical infrastructure to strengthen connectivity between communities and support long-term economic development. He said improved roads facilitate trade, reduce travel time, and contribute to national progress.
Umahi added that the progress recorded on federal road projects across the country demonstrates the government’s commitment to fulfilling its infrastructure promises while modernizing Nigeria’s transport network.
Referring to the project in Ebonyi State, he said it exemplifies the administration’s efforts to deliver practical benefits to road users.
“I think healing has come to the land through President Bola Tinubu, and the evidence is there. You can see the road you have been plying on all the way from Abakaliki to this point,” Umahi said.
The minister’s remarks reflect the Federal Government’s position that infrastructure development remains central to its agenda for economic growth and national transformation.
