“I Went to the Hospital Together With Our Mother, and We Met Abdullahi Unconscious” – Hannatu Bello

Hannatu Bello, the sister of Abdullahi Bello, has recounted the events leading to her brother’s death after he was allegedly attacked in the Rantiya community of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State.

According to Daily Trust on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Hannatu said Abdullahi left home on Sunday without any indication of trouble. The family later received a call from a police officer informing them that he had been found critically injured after an attack by unidentified assailants.

She said the Investigating Police Officer directed the family to a hospital in Dadin Kowa, where they found Abdullahi unconscious.

“I asked the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) handling the case if he was okay, but he told me to come to the hospital in Dadin Kowa. I took our mother and we went together. We met him unconscious,” she said.

Hannatu added that although her brother’s appearance could have led some people to assume he was Fulani, he was not. She condemned the killing as inhumane and said the incident had left the family devastated. Authorities have not identified those responsible for the attack.
