I’ve Never Denied That Nigerians Are Being Killed, It’s Wrong to Claim Govt Has Made No Effort – Gagdi

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Navy, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, has defended the Federal Government’s response to insecurity, saying it is inaccurate to claim that no effort has been made despite ongoing security challenges.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, the Plateau lawmaker acknowledged that Nigerians continue to lose their lives to terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes, stressing that he has never denied the gravity of the situation.

Gagdi said he has consistently highlighted the plight of victims and raised security concerns on the floor of the National Assembly whenever necessary.

He maintained that while insecurity remains a serious national challenge, the government’s ongoing security operations and other interventions should be recognised.

“I have never denied that Nigerians are being killed, but it is wrong to claim this government has made no effort against insecurity,” Gagdi said.

He added that acknowledging the continued loss of lives should not prevent Nigerians from recognising the efforts of the government and security agencies to tackle insecurity across the country.
