All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Joe Igbokwe has defended President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure agenda, saying many Nigerians fail to appreciate the administration’s long-term economic vision.
In a statement shared on social media on July 4, 2026, Igbokwe argued that the Tinubu administration has invested heavily in infrastructure projects nationwide, describing them as essential to economic growth and national development.
“PBAT has been investing heavily in infrastructure but the block heads cannot understand his trajectory. They do not know that infrastructure drives the economy anywhere in the world. Ignorance is a terrible disease,” he wrote.
Igbokwe said critics were overlooking the long-term benefits of investments in roads, bridges, rail lines and other infrastructure projects, which he believes will strengthen Nigeria’s economy over time.
His remarks sparked mixed reactions on social media. Supporters agreed that infrastructure investment is critical to economic development and praised the administration’s efforts, while critics argued that citizens have the right to question government policies and objected to Igbokwe’s description of those who disagree with the government’s approach.
