My Wife Told Me Her Father Will Not Accept a Muslim. Then I Requested to See Her Father – Adedimeji

Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has revealed how he overcame religious differences before marrying his wife, actress Mo Bimpe, after initially facing opposition from her family.

Speaking on the Morayo Show, Adedimeji said his wife rejected his marriage proposal because she believed her Christian father would not approve of her marrying a Muslim.

“Before I got married to my wife, she told me that her father will not accept a Muslim, then I requested to see her father and everything worked out well,” he said.

The actor explained that he later met Mo Bimpe’s father during a visit to her hometown, where he expressed his intention to marry her and assured him that he would love, respect and care for his daughter. According to Adedimeji, her father did not make an immediate decision but promised to pray about the matter before eventually giving his blessing.

He said their marriage has continued to thrive because it is built on love, mutual respect, understanding and a willingness to look beyond religious differences, adding that genuine commitment has been key to sustaining their relationship.
