Our Children Missing, Insecurity Rising, Do You Know or You Don’t Know? Mama Pee Tackles DSS at FHC

A protest outside the Federal High Court has drawn attention to the ongoing detention of Omoyele Sowore, with activists questioning the role and priorities of security agencies.

A video shared by Symfoni News showed a heavy presence of Department of State Services (DSS) operatives around the court premises amid calls from supporters and activists for Sowore’s release.

Among those who spoke at the scene was human rights activist Mama Pee, who criticized the deployment of security personnel and argued that greater attention should be given to addressing the country’s security challenges.

“Our children are missing, insecurity is rising. Do you know or you don’t know? They will not go after the actual terrorists; instead they run after Sowore, restricting his fundamental right,” she said.

Her remarks reflected concerns expressed by some protesters, who argued that security agencies should focus more on combating violent crime and insecurity across the country.

The comments have generated mixed reactions online. While some Nigerians supported her position and raised concerns about civil liberties, others argued that law enforcement actions are often based on intelligence assessments and legal processes not immediately visible to the public.

The protest highlights continuing public debate over the balance between national security measures, individual rights, and accountability within Nigeria’s justice system.
