Owoeye Jesudunsin from Ekiti State has emerged as the highest-scoring candidate in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The candidate, who wrote the examination in Ogun State, scored 372 out of 400 marks.
Speaking during the 2026 admission policy meeting held in Abuja on Monday, JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, revealed that Jesudunsin chose the University of Lagos (UNILAG) as her first-choice institution to study Medicine and Surgery.
Oloyede noted that the score is slightly lower than the highest mark recorded in 2025, when Chinedu Okeke from Anambra State scored 375.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Ikenna Enwere from Imo State came second with 370 marks after taking the examination in Lagos State.
Enwere chose Nile University in Abuja as his preferred institution to study Computer Science.
Ayomide Bamisile from Ondo State secured the third position with 369 marks.
He selected the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) to study Software Engineering.
