The Madina Divisional Police Command has begun investigating a shooting incident involving former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, in Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.

According to a statement issued by the Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on Sunday, June 21, 2026, preliminary investigations show that the incident happened while Adwoa Safo was visiting the residence of her late father in Kwabenya.

Police said the former MP suffered a gunshot injury to her left ear during the incident and later reported the matter to the Kwabenya Police Station.

As part of her report, she presented a vehicle with registration number GN 3482-24, which had visible gunshot damage. The vehicle has become an important piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation.

The police confirmed that Adwoa Safo has been issued a Police Medical Report Form and is currently receiving medical treatment.
