





The Ogun State Police Command has commenced investigation following the apprehension of two male suspects by personnel of the Nigeria Forest Security Service in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode.
The suspects were intercepted during a security operation on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Spokesperson for the command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, who confirmed the development in a statement said investigations are ongoing to establish their identities and determine the circumstances surrounding their activities within the area.
The command assured residents that the situation is under control and that there is no cause for alarm.
“The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an investigation following the apprehension of two male suspects by personnel of the Nigeria Forest Security Service in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode on Thursday, June 4, 2026,” the statement read.
“The suspects were intercepted during a security operation and subsequently handed over for further investigation.
“Preliminary inquiries are ongoing to establish their identities and determine the circumstances surrounding their activities within the area.
“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to assure residents that the situation is under control and that there is no cause for alarm.
“The suspects will be subjected to a thorough and professional investigation in accordance with the law, while any further action will be guided by the outcome of ongoing inquiries.
