Prison Has Never Broken the Resolve of Those Who Fight for Justice – Sowore

Omoyele Sowore says his detention in Kuje Prison has strengthened his resolve to continue advocating for justice and human rights in Nigeria.

In a statement posted on X on June 30 following his release, the 2023 presidential candidate described his imprisonment as unjust and criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

“Leaving Kuje Prison after being unjustly incarcerated by the failed traitor to the Nigerian people, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his regime,” Sowore wrote.

He insisted that his time in custody had not weakened his commitment to activism, adding, “Prison has never broken the resolve of those who fight for justice. If anything, it only strengthens our determination.”

Sowore also reaffirmed his commitment to his political and human rights campaign, declaring, “The struggle continues. We will never surrender.”

Sowore has had several confrontations with Nigerian authorities over the years, with his arrests and detentions drawing widespread attention from supporters and civil rights groups.
