Sheriff Akanbi, the husband of Oluwatosin Bankole, has alleged that before their marriage, his wife rejected his sexual advances during a meeting at a hotel in Agbado and that he later heard claims she was involved in commercial sex work at another hotel in Sango.
Speaking in an interview with Punch on Thursday, July 9, 2026, Akanbi recounted events he said occurred while they were dating. He claimed the incident at the hotel raised concerns, which were later reinforced by information he received about her alleged activities.
According to Akanbi, “She came to meet me at Ben K Hotel at Agbado, and I wanted to make love to her, but she refused. I later heard that she was doing ‘hook up’ at Latopic Hotel in Sango.”
He alleged that despite being disappointed, he continued with the relationship, which eventually led to their marriage. Akanbi said the information he later received about her alleged activities formed part of the concerns he is now raising publicly in response to allegations made against him.
