Super Eagles Winger Set for New Tactical Role at AC Milan

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze could be handed a new role at AC Milan next season as incoming head coach Ruben Amorim evaluates his squad ahead of the new campaign.

According to reports, the 27-year-old is expected to return to Milan for pre-season after spending the entire 2025/26 season on loan at Fulham. While the Premier League club retains an option to make the move permanent, no agreement has been reached, with Fulham reportedly seeking a lower transfer fee than initially agreed.

Amorim is said to be considering Chukwueze for a wing-back role in his preferred 3-4-3 system. The position would require the Nigerian international to contribute at both ends of the pitch, combining his attacking strengths with increased defensive responsibilities.

The Portuguese coach is currently assessing available options and believes Chukwueze’s pace, work rate, and versatility could make him a valuable fit in the role.

With two years remaining on his contract at AC Milan, the former Villarreal star faces a crucial pre-season as he looks to secure his place in Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season. His performances during the club’s preparations could prove decisive in determining whether he remains at San Siro or moves elsewhere before the transfer window closes.
