Zekeri Idris, spokesperson for Peter Obi’s Media Reach, has criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while acknowledging what he described as the government’s democratic openness.
Speaking in a video shared on the official X account of ARISE NEWS on June 25, 2026, Idris argued that the Tinubu administration has failed to meet the expectations of many Nigerians.
He specifically criticized the government’s handling of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), claiming that the administration was giving support with one hand while taking it back with the other through its policies.
Idris also expressed confidence that voters would remove the president from office in the 2027 general election.
“I am not a mindless critic. There are lots of things to criticize about the government. There are lots of positives in Tinubu’s government, and one of them is that we will be able to vote him out in 2027,” he said.
The remarks have added to ongoing political debates over the performance of the current administration, with supporters and critics continuing to offer contrasting assessments of the government’s policies and achievements ahead of the next election cycle.
