Political commentator and northern elder statesman Usman Bugaje has claimed that dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s administration is widespread across Northern Nigeria.
Speaking during an interview on SYMFONI TV, Bugaje was asked whether Tinubu still enjoys the level of support in the North that contributed significantly to his electoral victory. Rather than give a direct answer, he pointed to what he described as growing public discontent in the region.
“Ask the North then,” Bugaje said, before adding, “Just look at the songs that the young people have designed.”
He went on to state: “The North has never been as angry with any government like this particular government.”
According to Bugaje, many northerners openly criticize the administration daily, with some expressing their frustrations through prayers against the government.
He predicted that the extent of the dissatisfaction would become more visible during campaigns for the next election, when voters’ reactions and public sentiment are expected to reflect what he described as deep frustration across the region.
