Shola Sanni, Strategic Media Associate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Federal Government to release documents relating to the alleged forfeiture of $460,000 involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying doing so would address the controversy surrounding the matter.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, July 24, 2026, Sanni said Atiku’s camp was seeking only the relevant documents and was not interested in political distractions or unrelated arguments.
“We are only making a simple demand. Present documents of President Tinubu’s forfeiture of $460,000 to the FBI and we will be fine. All these other things are conflicting issues that are not related,” Sanni said.
He argued that introducing other issues into the debate diverts attention from what he described as the central question requiring clarification. According to Sanni, the request is solely for documentary evidence concerning the alleged forfeiture and not an attempt to generate unnecessary controversy.
Sanni maintained that making the requested records available would enable the public to assess the matter based on the available documents.
