Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will reclaim Lagos State in the 2027 presidential election, insisting that Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi no longer poses a significant political challenge.
According to The Sun on Sunday, June 28, 2026, Dare made the remarks during an appearance on the Mic On Podcast, where he said the administration’s re-election campaign would be based on its record in office rather than political calculations or attacks on opponents.
He argued that the Tinubu administration has spent the past three years addressing Nigeria’s economic and governance challenges through reforms aimed at resolving longstanding structural problems and improving public institutions.
“We have been able to interrogate the problems of this country. Decisions are being taken, policies are being unfolded across the country, and we have a scorecard to show,” Dare said.
He maintained that the government’s reforms are beginning to deliver measurable results and expressed confidence that its achievements in governance, policy implementation, and economic management would strengthen public trust and earn renewed support from voters in the 2027 presidential election.
