What Nyesom Wike Is Doing In Rivers State, They Cannot Dare Recreate In Edo State — Oruche

Human rights activist Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama Pee, has said political strategies that succeed in one Nigerian state may not produce the same results elsewhere due to differing political realities.

Speaking during an interview on KaaTruths on June 24, 2026, Oruche said each state has its own political environment shaped by voter behaviour, local interests, historical alignments and institutional structures.

Comparing Rivers and Edo states, she argued that Nigerians are becoming more politically aware and increasingly willing to respond to actions they believe affect their rights and participation in governance.

“What Nyesom Wike is doing in Rivers State, they cannot dare recreate in Edo State,” Oruche said, suggesting that political influence and strategies are not easily transferable across states without facing different outcomes or resistance.

She urged political leaders to recognise the unique characteristics of each state’s electorate and noted that voters are increasingly independent in assessing political decisions.

Oruche also called for stronger protection of democratic values and public confidence in the electoral process, describing trust in elections as vital to political stability. She urged leaders to prioritise economic development, security and social welfare while encouraging Nigerians to remain engaged in the democratic process and hold elected officials accountable regardless of political affiliation.
