Super Eagles defender Chibuike Nwaiwu has reaffirmed his commitment to Turkish side Trabzonspor amid growing transfer speculation linking him with several European clubs.
According to Punch on Sunday, June 28, 2026, the 22-year-old has attracted interest from Premier League clubs West Ham United and Fulham, while Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are also reportedly monitoring his situation.
Nwaiwu joined Trabzonspor from Austrian club Wolfsberger in January for €5.5 million and has enjoyed an impressive start, making 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals, providing one assist, and helping the club win the Turkish Cup.
Reports indicate Fulham submitted a bid of around €20 million, but Trabzonspor rejected the offer and are believed to value the defender at between €35 million and €40 million. With four-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, the Turkish club is under no pressure to sell.
Responding to the speculation, Nwaiwu said, “Yes, that’s my club, and I am a contracted player there. Whatever happens from now on happens,” emphasizing his focus on his current club while leaving any future transfer decisions to the appropriate parties.
