“They Know ADC May Not Be on the Ballot, and Want to Take Over ADA if David Mark’s Faction Is Out” — Ardo

All Democratic Alliance (ADA) promoter Umar Ardo has alleged that the leadership dispute within the association is being driven by political calculations ahead of the next general election.

Speaking during an interview aired on Arise News on June 30, Ardo claimed some politicians were seeking control of the ADA because of uncertainty surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

“They know that ADC may not be on the ballot, and they want to take over ADA in case the David Mark faction is put out,” Ardo said.

He argued that those individuals had aligned with the ADC but were now attempting to gain influence within the ADA amid concerns over possible legal and political developments affecting the party. Ardo also maintained that leadership changes made by his group were lawful and had been duly communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Ardo criticised a recent Federal High Court ruling on the ADA leadership dispute, saying it failed to properly assess the evidence presented. He disclosed that his group has filed an appeal and an application for a stay of execution, expressing confidence that the Court of Appeal will determine the rightful leadership in accordance with the law.
