Gunmen Abduct Cleric, Two Worshippers in Benue

Senior pastor of the Universal Reformed Christian Church (NKST), Rev. Dr. Samuel Gbinde, and two members of his congregation have been abducted by suspected gunmen in Andyar community, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to reports, the armed assailants invaded the community and took the three victims to an undisclosed location, sparking concern among church members and residents over the worsening security situation in the area.

Security agencies were reportedly alerted shortly after the abduction and are expected to intensify efforts to rescue the victims and apprehend those responsible.

As of the time of the report, there was no official information on contact with the kidnappers or any ransom demand.

The incident adds to a series of kidnappings and other violent attacks recorded in Guma Local Government Area and other parts of Benue State in recent years. Community leaders have renewed calls for stronger security measures and improved surveillance to protect lives and property, while church members and residents continue to pray for the safe release of Rev. Gbinde and the two worshippers.
