Mrs. Alamu Folawe, Vice Principal of Community Grammar School, Oriire, Oyo State, has recounted how security operatives rescued her, students, and other staff members from their abductors.
According to Vanguard, Folawe told journalists on Saturday, July 11, 2026, that the rescue was made possible through the combined efforts of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, and intelligence provided by the Department of State Services (DSS).
She expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the security agencies, saying their intervention ensured the victims regained their freedom safely.
“Every security operative tried so much and that is why we are still alive now. We are very grateful to you. Thank you very much,” she said.
The report also cited an unnamed source who claimed that food supplies to the kidnappers were disrupted before the operation, weakening the group’s position and contributing to the success of the rescue mission.
According to the source, the operation lasted several hours, during which many of the suspected kidnappers were killed, while others were arrested and are being interrogated by the DSS. The rescue has continued to attract widespread public attention.
