The All Progressives Congress (APC) has prioritised completing candidate documentation for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the nomination deadline, following the review of more than 700 petitions arising from its April primaries.
According to The Nation on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka said the party’s immediate focus is ensuring successful aspirants complete and upload INEC Form EC9, the mandatory nomination affidavit, within the required timeframe.
Morka said all successful candidates have received the necessary forms and are working with the party to meet INEC’s requirements, adding that publishing the full list of candidates is secondary because aspirants already know their status.
He said the party thoroughly reviewed over 700 petitions filed by dissatisfied aspirants after the primaries. While some appeals were dismissed, others resulted in corrections in certain constituencies and changes to previously declared winners.
Morka said the review process has been concluded, nomination forms are being distributed through members of the National Working Committee and other party leaders, and reconciliation efforts are underway to promote unity ahead of the general elections.
