Buhari Was There for Eight Years, and We Were Part and Parcel of Ensuring He Came to Power – Suleiman

Hon. Aminu Suleiman, Director-General of the Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO), says the North should not support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate for the 2027 election, insisting President Bola Tinubu should complete two terms in office.

Speaking to journalists at the State House in Abuja after meeting President Tinubu, Suleiman argued that equity and fairness require the South to retain the presidency following eight years of Northern leadership under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said returning the presidency to the North after Buhari’s tenure would undermine Nigeria’s power-sharing arrangement, adding that respecting the unwritten zoning principle would promote national unity, political stability and confidence in democracy.

Suleiman also praised the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms and infrastructure projects, expressing confidence they would strengthen public support ahead of the 2027 election. He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would campaign on the administration’s record in governance, economic reform and infrastructure.

“We cannot be greedy. Muhammadu Buhari was there for eight years, and we were part and parcel of ensuring he came to power. We have finished our eight years in office,” he said.
