Gonzalo García has completed a permanent move from Real Madrid CF to Fulham F.C., bringing an end to one of the club’s most closely followed transfer negotiations this summer.
According to the report, published by Madrid Universal on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Real Madrid confirmed that both clubs reached an agreement for the transfer as part of the Spanish side’s squad restructuring plans. While the official fee was not disclosed, the report said Fulham will acquire 70 percent of García’s rights for about €40 million, with Real Madrid retaining the remaining share to benefit from any future transfer. Earlier estimates had valued the deal at around €70 million.
García leaves the Santiago Bernabéu after joining Real Madrid’s academy in 2014 at the age of 10. According to the report, the 21-year-old enhanced his reputation with impressive performances during the FIFA Club World Cup, capitalising on opportunities created by Kylian Mbappé’s absence.
Fulham are expected to provide García with regular first-team football, while Real Madrid view the agreement as beneficial both financially and for the striker’s long-term development.
